The Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) recently partnered with ten utilities to assess challenges and best practices for interconnecting bidirectional charging systems. The resulting report summarizes key insights to guide regulators as adoption grows, outlining near-term actions commissions and utilities can take to prepare. These include clarifying definitions, updating interconnection rules to address bidirectional capabilities, and establishing fair compensation for grid services, ensuring utilities, installers, and customers are aligned on how these systems interact with the grid.
